The dental team at Family Smiles Dental wants your first visit to be as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We strive to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere in which you and your family members can feel relaxed. We do our best to ensure that your visit with us gives you the opportunity to get to know us a little better and share your dental concerns.
At Family Smiles Dental, we believe it is important that every patient’s concerns are heard and addressed. You know better than anyone your desires in achieving your best smile and optimal dental health. We help make that happen by listening to you and providing excellent dental care.
We believe in taking time with each patient. On your first visit, you can expect to be in the chair for 1.5 hours. During this time, our hygienist will get to know you and your concerns regarding your oral health. You will probably have questions, so be sure to ask them. You may want to write them down before your appointment to make sure all your questions are answered.
During Your Appointment
Your initial visit creates a baseline to which future visits will be compared so we can monitor the progress of your oral health. To start with, a series of digital radiographs will be taken to find out what, if anything, is going on beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. Intraoral photos will also be taken during this time.
After an examination, the hygienist will complete a professional cleaning. Special consideration may need to be given to new patients showing periodontal disease. The hygienist and dentist will talk to you about concerns that are revealed through your examination and diagnostic pictures.
One of our dentists will meet with you after your cleaning to review all of your information. The dentist will explain the findings to you and suggest a treatment plan, outlining your options if further dental care is required.
We hope your first visit to Family Smiles Dental is pleasant and informative. Contact us if you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment for yourself or a family member.
